The weights are editorial judgements about what each care model usually offers, written from the society guidance and labels listed below. They are not measurements of any clinic. Two clinics of the same model can differ more than two models do, which is why every result ends in questions to ask rather than a verdict.
Assumptions, checked September 4, 2026
- Care models are defined as: in-person obesity medicine clinic; primary care; telehealth-only program; hybrid (some visits in a room, routine follow-up remote). A named clinic may sit between two of them.
- Monitoring weights follow the Wegovy and Zepbound labels: hypoglycemia risk with insulin or a sulfonylurea, acute kidney injury after dehydration, pancreatitis and gallbladder warnings, and the Wegovy instruction to stop at least 2 months before a planned pregnancy.
- The statement that questionnaires alone do not establish care follows the FSMB 2022 telemedicine report; the AMA opinion 1.2.12 covers informed consent, technology limits and continuity of care.
- Cost weights assume the common pattern on the checked date: primary care and most in-person clinics bill insurance for visits; many telehealth programs are cash-pay memberships. Individual clinics vary; the quiz asks you to confirm.
- Compounded GLP-1s are not FDA approved and are not interchangeable with brand products. The quiz treats product route as a preference to discuss, not a recommendation.
